Safety Net

Illinoisans facing barriers to oral health care in private practices often turn to what is known as the “Safety Net.” Comprised primarily of federally qualified health centers, health department clinics, charitable clinics, school dental clinics and mobile or portable outreach programs, the Safety Net is often the only option for low-income populations needing dental care.
